I DO NOT CONDONE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN LIBYA, any more than what is happening                           in AFGHANISTAN, GAZA, IRAQ and -- in the past -- LEBANON.                     I CONDONE PEACE FOR ALL NATIONS.

Dear Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon :

It is believed that, if Qaddafi can't dominate the air, he loses a key weapon in a war in which civilians are paying the heaviest price. But, as long as his helicopter gun-ships and bombers are in the air, the death toll will rise (enormously or tremendously). Reason dictates that, if the US, NATO, Israel etc, can't dominate the air, they also lose a key weapon in a war in which civilians are also paying the heaviest price.

I call on the Secretary General and Security Council Member-States to take immediate steps to impose a no-fly zone under Chapter VII of the UN Charter in order to stop the aerial bombings of civilians in LIBYA, AFGHANISTAN, GAZA, and IRAQ so as to restore access for humanitarian flights to AFGHANISTAN, GAZA, IRAQI, etc. Only through robust but peaceful international action and oversight can the bloodshed in LIBYA, AFGHANISTAN, GAZA, and IRAQ be stopped.

It is noticed that nations that have nuclear weapons are negotiated with, but those that do not possess those weapons are bullied. Does not this type of attitude by those who have such weapons cause those nations who do not have such weapons to strive to get such weapons? After all, no one likes to be bullied.

The head of NATO has said that any effort to create a no-fly zone would first require a resolution from the UN. In many crises like these, one UN country or another has vetoed strong positions. The Security Council's sanctions are real. UN Ambassadors say that representatives are "substantially united" that Qaddafi has to go

However, these same nations do not unite and are (moreover) silent when the same actions are taken by NATO, the US, and Israel. What's needed now is another push from the world's people to reign in this dominant approach by nations that ignore the same standard to which they hold other countries. We all are the world's people –including the countries mentioned herein.

How would any nation which intervenes, accept another country's doing the same to their country, their leader, their government, or their people?

There is much talk also about crimes against humanity. Every day, crimes against humanity are inflicted by those nations that are active in war. Yet, I do not hear that cry and charge coming against the same nations currently at war or coming from the same nations against themselves.

An opinion has declared that a resolution wouldn't be a silver bullet – and that the enforcement of a no-fly zone would be dangerous and complex. However, wouldn't such an act be a declaration of war on a sovereign nation that has to deal with an insurrection? Who on earth (or in the heavens) gave any nation on this planet the authority to tell another nation when, where and how to tell another nation's leader, such as Qaddafi, that his/her time is up - that he/she has to go? From where does this authority come? Does the United Nations' Charter grant such authority to itself and/or any nation?

Governments need to stand with the people of LIBYA, AFGHANISTAN, GAZA, and IRAQ, if that is the position they choose to take; but they have no right to intervene against another government. International Law prohibits such action, since such an act is considered to be an invasion. If all governments stand with the people of other nations, there will be peace -- because the citizens of a nation prefer peace. The desire for peace includes governments (an organization) that are populated by people, including their respective Leaders, Members of Cabinets, Ambassadors, etc.

I have not heard the same outcry (aimed against Qaddafi) coming from the UN, the US, United Kingdom, France, Germany, NATO, or other world bodies when bombardments from the air by NATO, US and Israeli forces rained down on defenseless civilians.

If armed forces were to pick up arms in any of these countries that now want a no-fly zone and resolutions, these nations would say that they are entitled to respond by force because of ANARCHY. For instance, how would the US respond to any armed militia that shoots at government forces? Would the US not put it down by all means necessary?

Lastly, who is arming the opposition/rebels? Who has been/is training them? I do not see how a civilian population would suddenly rise up overnight and suddenly be in possession of anti-aircraft weapons and war tanks, and other artillery. From where did they obtain the anti-aircraft weapons and war tanks, the reinforced bullets, and artillery? Who is behind this insurrection?

I challenge you, the United Nations Member-States and Secretary General, to look at yourselves and Member-States in your respective mirrors.

Let me reiterate: I DO NOT CONDONE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN LIBYA; I condone peace for all nations.

Therefore, let's get real; let's be fair and equitable. Be neutral. Stop playing sides, because "what's good for the goose is also good for the gander." Remember the spiritual advice, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" and be aware of the admonition "Judge not, that you be not judged." Finally, "Cast the mote out of your own eye before you take the mote out of your brother's eye."
